Abbotsford Convent

The Convent is located west of Yarra Bend Park, with the Collingwood Children's Farm to its north and east, the river and parklands to its south and housing to its west. The ride or walk to the Convent is spectacular, with the Yarra River Trail walking path directly passing the site. There's the art precinct, the antique bookstore, the farmers market, cafes and more.

Nestled in the bend on the Yarra, the inner city Collingwood Children's Farm is an absolute Melbourne treasure. Open to the public daily there are pony and tractor rides, and plenty of hands on activities such as milk feeding, etc.

Lentil as Anything (eatery) is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the honour system - Pay what you can, and the slow cooked vegetarian dishes are absolutely divine, worthy of a 5 star restaurant.

The Friday night Jazz nights are a personal favourite scene.  A night out with friends,  a glass of red wine, the smell of the convent bakery, great music and the maccaras! :) A real gem right in the heart of the city!

  • "Heather (pictured here) is an Ayrshire cow, an old Scottish breed renowned for their gentle and quiet behaviour"..... according to their website, and she is exactly that. I just love her little loyal adoring buddy... Every shot I have, shows the two of them together.  Friends of a feather, stick together!

    Heather had a little friend,
His feathers dark, his nickname - Snow,
    And everywhere that Heather went,
That birdie was sure to follow....

  • If its a little bit breezy on a given day, don't despair - at The Farm Cafe, you're welcome to a free throw rug to warm the legs while you enjoy your latte!

  • The Abbotsford Precinct Heritage Farmlands are possibly the oldest continuously farmed freehold land in Victoria.
