Its hard not to watch this film without thinking not only of Gallipoli, but also of the loss of the Australian actor Jon Blake. Forever remembered as a charismatic actor on the brink of stardom, incl in the above named film, Blake was just 28 when a car crash near Port Augusta confined him to a darkened room of his family's home.
