Get going to Glorious Geelong!
"A tourist is a fellow who drives thousands of miles so he can be photographed standing in front of his car". ~~Emile Ganest
I've certainly been there done that before and have the photo prints (pre-digital) to prove it! LOL
I'm originally a Geelong girl born and bred, living there for my first 20 years, now moved to the big smoke. This website is not intended to be a travel blog, simply the hobby of an amateur photographer. Practice, practice, practice, and making numerous technical & artistic mistakes along the way, but most importantly - having
fun !
The irony is I've discovered I've also become the tourist, driving miles back to my home town, just so I can photograph it! Next>>

Eastern Beach Reserve located on the City's scenic waterfront, is scattered with the renowned Bay walk Bollards. Home to a vast array of picnic, playground amenities, and floating islands, it also has a shark proof sea bath, which is dominated by a large diving tower. The picturesque reserve & historical Art deco style boardwalk was built during the 1930s is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months.

Cunningham Pier, Geelong This quiet 120-year-old Geelong pier may be turned into a residential development, the first of its kind in Victoria. The proposed $135-million development would comprise apartments, hotels, shops , convention centre and a marina on Corio Bay. The 333-metre-long pier would also be widened and extended to accommodate cruise ships. At present, the privately owned pier is home to a fast-food outlet and a restaurant.

Detail, part of the Eastern Beach Fountain, c 1940. Currently (2013) only one flamingo remains undamaged

Where it is? Hidden around Geelong is this small masterpiece... I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist Like it doesn't exist I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
